The Pragmatists find an ideal synthesis of motifs and inspirations in the light and colours of Engadin. The rich and diverse history of the region serves as a point of departure for their depictions of the sunny and joyful valley which they have loved and visited for decades.   Seemingly traditional motifs—still lifes, landscapes, portraits—are investigated across the works, revealing the mysterious depths hidden beneath the face and folds of a hill.   Art has always found its richness and vitality in the exchange born of the mingling and melding together of different cultures: Dürer in Venice, Füssli in London and Rome, Segantini in the Grigioni canton, and now the Pragmatists in Engadin
